Christmas, is your stress levels going up?
Is the thought of Christmas giving you a higher stress? Could it be the present buying, the office Christmas party, the relations, the Christmas food shop and cooking or just being at home for the week?
What is stress?
This can be being under too much pressure at work. Uncertainty of the job, deadlines, working too many hours. Family concerns. Financial worries, relationship issues.. Trying to keep all those balls in the air at once. And no time in your day to simply relax and take time out for you.
The way we are designed to respond to pressure is to go into the 'fight or flight' response - this dumps lots of adrenaline and other chemicals into our system and gets us through the situation. Which is fine if it's only short-term, however for a longer period it may cause medical issues.
What are the symptoms?
Most people suffer with at least one of these symptoms. It's when you're noticing that you have a few (or more) of them that you should be considering seeking some help with your stress and anxiety as they can lead to physical health problems in the future.

Not wanting to socialise

... and the list could go on.
