New Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Course - Widnes
What does the MBSR Mindfulness course involve?
On the eight week mindfulness course you learn how to be mindfully present with thoughts, emotions and body sensations, supported by an attitude of kindness and compassion whilst being in the present moment. This can really help us be a healthy human being both mentally and physically.
The Course consists two hours once a week for eight weeks. Participants are invited to practice regularly during the week the mindfulness skills taught on the course. In this way, by the end of the course, you will hopefully have created a mindfulness meditation practice that will be largely self-sustaining to the extent you can maintain it.
Each class introduces mindfulness meditations and the attitudes that best support these practices – kindness and compassion. Typically each session will be a mix of practising mindfulness together, learning new mindfulness skills and reviewing the previous weeks daily mindfulness practice. The Course focuses entirely on supporting the development of mindfulness so that each of us who participate may leave with a set of mindfulness skills and attitudes that will be of profound use for the rest of our lives. The course is very relaxing and fun.

I was very optimistic about where the course would be for me. It has been excellent and ticked all the boxes, But has been wonderful. I am feeling more relaxed sleeping better and thinking more clearly about my health and wellbeing. I do worry quite a lot but now look around at nature more doing my breathing exercises.
The Mindfulness course and the relaxation activities very helpful especially in improving my sleep patterns. I can now use the various techniques to ‘live in the moment’ and not be concerned too much with the past and the future. It has given me a feeling of wellbeing . It is a course I would recommend for everyone.
I have found the course extremely enjoyable and useful. I have been able to understand the basics of mindfulness and Tai Chi, and to implement and practice during the week. It was very relaxed and easy format, and a very welcoming and positive group. I have been able to connect even more than I usually do, with nature which I have loved. Bob has been a wonderful and patient teacher, I can highly recommend him and the course. Using the exercises he has taught has helped, and I am building up mindfulness practice and incorporating it in my life when I can. I look forward to building on the practice going forward to help with chronic pain management, becoming more focused i.e. helping to feel calmer.
